Bold and Original Jan Jansen is an haute couture shoe shop right in the heart of the picturesque seaside resort of St Ives, Cornwall. It is the only outlet in the UK and only one of five outlets worldwide that sell the show-stopping, limited-design creations by renowned Dutch designer Jan Jansen. The shop opened in August 2003 and is run by Annie Jackson and her son Mark. Annie, while on holiday, chanced upon a shoe shop in Heusden, Holland and was completely taken in by the sheer vibrancy of the colours, the playfulness of the designs, the materials used, and to top it all, the fact that these ‘works of art’ were enormously comfortable on the foot. Captivated, she invested in several pairs for herself, but the love affair continued and she convinced Jan Jansen to take on another sales outlet. There are currently three outlets in Holland and one in California. Less than 12 months later another Jan Jansen outlet was up and running in St Ives, Cornwall. Bold and original not only aptly describes the products in the Jan Jansen shoe shop, but also its owner and her son, who pair up to give you the warmest of welcome and the most pleasant and cheerful fitting!
